Joe Oliver is the former Member of Parliament from neighbouring Eglinton-Lawrence. He is the former federal Minister of Finance, Minister of Natural Resources and Minister Responsible for the GTA.
Mr. Oliver represented Canada at G7, G 20, IMF and World Bank meetings of Finance Ministers and Governors of Central Banks. He co-chaired the G20 committee responsible for generating and overseeing country plans to increase global growth by $2 trillion.
Previously, Joe Oliver served as an investment banker, Executive Director of the Ontario Securities Commission and President and CEO of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada.
Mr. Oliver graduated from McGill University with a BA and BCL (civil law). He later obtained his MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
